These Terms of Use apply when you access Match My Yarn or use its yarn substitution calculator.

Planning tool, not a guarantee

The calculator provides estimates based on the information entered by the user. The quantity calculation uses yarn length and a selected safety margin. Compatibility guidance compares available label information and user selections.

A favourable result does not guarantee identical gauge, fabric, drape, elasticity, warmth, durability, colour behaviour or care requirements. Yarn labels, patterns and individual tension may vary.

Your responsibility

Before purchasing a large quantity of yarn or beginning a project, check the pattern and manufacturer information and make, wash, dry and measure an appropriate gauge swatch. For colour-sensitive projects, consider dye-lot availability. You are responsible for checking the accuracy of the values entered and deciding whether a substitution is suitable.

Purchases and third parties

Match My Yarn does not currently sell yarn. If the website links to a retailer or manufacturer, any purchase is made directly with that third party under its own prices, availability, delivery, returns and terms.

Acceptable use

You may use the calculator for personal and reasonable professional planning. You may not disrupt the service, attempt unauthorised access, extract the website at scale, misrepresent the results as guaranteed, or reproduce the tool as your own commercial service without permission.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Match My Yarn is not responsible for yarn purchases, project outcomes, differences in finished size or fabric, loss of materials, third-party products or decisions made solely from an estimate. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.

Changes

The calculator and these terms may be updated as the tool develops. The date shown above identifies the latest published revision.
